Your samples are collected at our clinic and sent to an outside laboratory for processing. Results are shared with you through our secure patient portal once they are back from the lab, and your provider will follow up if any result needs treatment.
Yes. Urine tests accurately detect chlamydia and gonorrhea. Other infections like HIV, syphilis, and herpes require a blood test or swab. Our providers determine the right combination of tests based on your history and symptoms.
Bacterial STDs like chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis are fully curable with antibiotics. Viral STDs like HIV, herpes, and hepatitis B are not currently curable, but are highly manageable with medication — allowing people to live full, healthy lives. Hepatitis C is now curable in most cases with modern antiviral therapy.
No fasting is required for most STD tests. If your provider orders additional blood work as part of your visit, we’ll let you know of any requirements in advance.
