A Physician Assistant whose path from Iran to California is driven by healthcare access
Shabnam Shavakh is a dedicated Physician Assistant at Instant Urgent Care whose story is every bit as compelling as her clinical skill. Born and raised in Iran, Shabnam migrated to the United States in December 2015 with a clear mission: to make a meaningful difference in the healthcare sector and help as many people as possible access quality care.
Her desire to enter medicine was shaped directly by the limited healthcare resources available in Iran — an experience that continues to fuel her work today. After arriving in the United States, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry at the University of Missouri Kansas City, laying a strong scientific foundation for her medical career.
She then earned her Physician Assistant degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, one of the most respected PA programs in the country. Today, she practices as a full-spectrum urgent care and primary care provider, seeing patients of every age for everything from acute illness to chronic disease management.
Fluent in English and Persian (Farsi), Shabnam takes tremendous pride in her ability to connect with patients in both languages — making her a trusted provider for Silicon Valley's Iranian and Persian-speaking communities. Outside the clinic, she values time with friends and family, loves to read and watch movies, and remains a devoted fan of Persian cuisine and its rich traditions.
