The former free trade agreement between New Zealand and Australia was a free trade agreement with a “positive list”, which required long lists of products to be included in free trade plans. In contrast, the CER is a free trade agreement with a “negative list” that covers anything but explicit exclusion. Australia is one of our main economic partners. New Zealand and Australia have made good progress in reducing trade barriers. The TTMRA is a cornerstone of the internal economic market. It is a powerful driver of regulatory coordination and integration. It is essential for the development of an integrated trans-Mamanic economy and a smooth marketplace, as provided for in the Australia-New Zealand trade agreement. Timetable: CER replaced the New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1965. Discussions began in the late 1970s and a new agreement was reached in December 1982. The REB entered into force in January 1983. The open and open discussions with New Zealand businesses and leaders and the access granted by the New Zealand government to the delegation show that the relationship between Tasmanian and Tasmanian is of great value and promises good things for the future.

On 14 December 1982, the Prime Ministers of Australia and New Zealand signed an agreement on RECs, which allowed the agreement to enter into force on 1 January 1983. The contract itself was signed on 28 March 1983 (3).
